Safe Use of Woodworking Machine Training

Introduction:

The Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations 1998 (PUWER), covers the use of work equipment in the workplace. The aim of this course is to train people in the skills and knowledge needed to achieve the standards of competency required to carry out the pre-use inspection and safe and correct use of the most popular types of woodworking machines in the workplace.

Course Objectives:

On completion of this course the trainee will be able to identify defects which is the purpose of the inspection to discover and to have a basic understanding of the safe and correct use of woodworking machines. This course will also cover the basic requirements of the: Electricity at Work Regulations, Personal Protective Equipment Regulations (PPE Regulations), The Control of Substances Hazardous to Health Regulations (COSHH Regulations), The Control of Noise at Work Regulations and the Control of Vibration at Work Regulations (with reference to HAVS).

The training is intended to benefit individuals involved with managing, supervising or using woodworking machines in the workplace.

  • Practical Sessions / Appraisals

Training Method:

This is a One Day (08:45 – 16:30) classroom based course, with assessments.
Delegates will be required to complete a written test paper.
