Non-licensed Asbestos Works

(Reg. 10 – Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012)

Introduction:

Essential training for anyone who will be disturbing, removing or performing tasks with Non-Licensable Asbestos Containing Materials (ACM’s). Delegates who successfully complete the course will be able to safely work with Non-Licensed ACM’s, including corrugated roof sheets, cement soffits, down pipes and soil stacks, artex ceilings, Marley floor tiles etc. Our training covers full removal of these items, as well as tasks such as drilling, cutting and repair work.

Delegates must have successfully completed an Asbestos Awareness Course, prior to attending this course, which is a mandatory pre-requisite.

Course Syllabus:

  • Revision of basic information from Asbestos Awareness Course
  • Operations that could result in asbestos exposure and the importance of preventative controls to minimise exposure.
  • Safe working practices, control measures and protective equipment
  • Purpose, choice, limitations, proper use and maintenance of RPE
  • Emergency procedures
  • Hygiene requirements
  • Decontamination procedures
  • Waste handling procedures
  • Medical examination requirements
  • Control limit and the need for air monitoring
  • Multiple choice question paper (74% minimum Pass Mark)
  • Risk Assessment and Method Statement information sheets
  • Close / Appraisals

Certification:

Certificate of Competence, valid for 1 year, in line with HSE guidelines.
