Managing asbestos in buildings is a legal responsibility under Regulation 4 of the Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012, which requires dutyholders to assess, record, and manage asbestos risks effectively. This regulation applies to non-domestic premises and the common areas of multi-occupancy residential buildings, ensuring that asbestos-containing materials (ACMs) do not pose a health hazard. They must also ensure that maintenance or other activities carried out subsequently do not expose the workers to any avoidable risks.
