Raising awareness of mental health is essential for workplace well-being and legal compliance. The Mental Health Act 1983 (amended 2007), Equality Act 2010, and Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 mandate that employers support mental health in the workplace and ensure fair treatment for individuals experiencing mental health conditions.

Course Objectives

The aims of this course are to build an understanding of different mental health conditions and risk factors, to encourage openness and discussion, reduce stigma and prevent worsening. 

Delegates will be introduced to ways to develop resilience/coping methods, where to find help, how to spot the signs that other may be struggling and how to initiate conversations around mental health.

Prerequisites

The following list of prerequisites are required to take this course:

  • 16 years or older
  • able to physically undertake practical tasks
  • free from the effects of drugs and alcohol
  • fluent in spoken and written English

  • Valid Photo ID - For example Passport or Driving License
  • Clean comfortable clothing, suitable for classroom
  • Lunch, if attending a full day at our Training Centre (although there are many local eateries nearby) - tea and coffee are provided
