Prerequisites

The following list of prerequisites are required to take this course:

  • 16 years or older
  • able to physically undertake practical tasks
  • free from the effects of drugs and alcohol
  • fluent in spoken and written English

What to Bring

The following items are required to bring on the day of the course:

  • Valid Photo ID - For example Passport or Driving License
  • Clean comfortable clothing, suitable for classroom
  • Lunch - if attending our Training Centre (although there are many local eateries nearby) - tea and coffee are provided
  • PPE (Hi-Vis, Gloves, Hard Hat, Safety Shoes, Cold/Wet weather clothing) - (If in-person classroom course)

  • Safeguarding of machinery at work (FIATT)
  • Basic machine construction and features, including pre use inspections
  • Correct and safe use
  • Personal protective equipment, noise at work and COSHH requirements
  • Machine familiarisation, site hazards and precautions
  • Practical session
