Details
Proper forklift (FLT) operation is essential for workplace safety and legal compliance. The Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations (PUWER) 1998, Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations (LOLER) 1998, and Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 mandate that employers ensure workers receive adequate training to minimise risks and prevent accidents.
Who is the course aimed at?
Anyone who uses this equipment and those responsible to supervising them.
Course Levels:
Novice (Beginner)
Experienced Operator (some use with no previous formal training)
Refresher (Renewing a previously obtained licence)
Conversion (Converting from one type of truck to another, for example J2 Telehandler to B2 Counterbalance)
Course Objectives
Safetymen offer Forklift Training Courses that provides essential knowledge on machine operation, load handling, risk assessment, and maintenance, following HSE guidelines and the Approved Code of Practice (ACOP) L117. Participants will learn how to operate forklifts safely, conduct pre-use inspections, and ensure compliance with UK safety standards.

Refresher Course
Prerequisites
The following list of prerequisites are required to take this course:
- 16 years or older
- able to physically undertake practical tasks
- free from the effects of drugs and alcohol
- fluent in spoken and written English
What to Bring
The following items are required to bring on the day of the course:
- Valid Photo ID - For example Passport or Driving License
- Clean comfortable clothing, suitable for classroom
- Lunch - if attending our Training Centre (although there are many local eateries nearby) - tea and coffee are provided
- PPE (Hi-Vis, Gloves, Hard Hat, Safety Shoes, Cold/Wet weather clothing)
